How to Read Faster and Better
Published in Hardcover by Simon & Schuster (September, 1983)
Author: Franklin J. Agardy
Average review score:

Hummm, Stop the talk and cut to the chase...
This book is a whole lot of hope and nothing to back it up with. Sure it tells you how you should improve your reading but doesn't explain why, and the exerises to supposedly improve your speed and comprehension are pointless and lack structure. It is a waste of time and effort if you are looking to learn how to speed read, or read any better for that matter. If your just looking for information on Evelyn Wood, that's about all this book has to offer. Good thing I rented this book from the library and didn't buy it.

JUNK!!!!!!!!!
Now that getting an MCSE title is hot it seems that everyone and their sister is writing a book. This guy out to be shot for even trying to write this book. All he does is tell you to research the material,he doesn't explain the material he wants YOU to buy his book and then go elsewhere and spen your money researching the material. Makes sense? of course not do your self a favor if your thinking of buying this book-just give your money to charity you'll get the same results.

Rapid Math in 10 Days: The Quick-And-Easy Program for Mastering Numbers (Excell-Erated Skills)
Published in Paperback by Perigee (September, 1994)
Author: Edward H. Julius
Average review score:

edward's techniques are not realistic!!
FIRST OF ALL WHO SAYS ADDING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT IS EASIER! YOU STILL HAVE TO KNOW YOUR ADDITION FACTS TO GET THE ANSWER. THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE ADDITION EASIER IS TO MEMORIZE YOUR ADDITION FACTS. THE SAD THING IS THAT 99% OF THE MATH BOOKS OUT THERE DON'T SHOW YOU HOW TO MEMORIZE THEM. (JUST TO SAY, FLASHCARDS DON'T WORK EITHER! THEY PROMOTE REPITITION AND MOST OF US KNOW THAT WHAT'S LEARNED BY REPITITION FADES AWAY.) BACK TO THIS BOOK,MOST OF THE TECHNIQUES ARE IMPRACTICAL,YOU'LL KEEP THINKING "IF I COULD DO THIS I WOULDN'T BE READING THIS BOOK!" HEY EDWARD JULIUS, MENTAL MATH SHOULD BE EASIER THAN STANDARD MATH! MOST OF HIS SOLUTIONS ARE ESTIMATED,SO HE SHOWS YOU A COMPLICATED WAY OF GUESSING UNTIL YOU GET THE ANSWER. I'M TELLING YOU,I'M SICK OF MATHMATICIANS WRITING BOOKS SHOWING OFF HOW SMART THEY ARE INSTEAD OF TEACHING PRACTICAL TECHNIQUES THAT PEOPLE CAN ACTUALLY LEARN. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO LEARN ARITHMETIC THE EASY WAY CHECK OUT JAKOW TRACHTENBERG'S BOOK TRACHTENBERG SPEED SYSTEM OF MATHEMATICS. ALSO LOOK UP VEDIC MATH ON THE INTERNET (OF WHICH I THINK TRACHTENBERG GOT HIS TECHNIQUES FROM I'M NOT SURE.

Rapid Reference Guide to Hypercard for the Macintosh (Rapid Reference Series)
Published in Paperback by McGraw-Hill Trade (September, 1992)
Author: Michael Fraase
Average review score:

Read On ... Don't Waste Your Money And Buy This Book
Your money is better spent, in my humble opinion, buying one of the other books of this subject. The author writes with a style spewing arrogance with little demonstrated knowledge of his subject matter.

I quickly returned this book to the store where I bought it and got my money back. I only pity the poor fool who buys the book from them used, and can't then take it back because he bought it used.
